HISTORY

First Baptist Church School was established in 1977 and began with 23 four year olds and two teachers.  We are a ministry of Brenham’s First Baptist Church, and opened to students of all faiths.  We currently have approximately 250 students, including infants through sixth grade.

FBCS offers many services through our Early Education Center (EEC) including our infant care, extended day childcare, summer and school holiday childcare.

Our school holds memberships in the Association of Christian Schools International (ACSI).

FBCS is dedicated to excellence in academics and to providing a lovingly structured Christian environment.

Believing that we have the responsibility of giving the children entrusted to us the best possible education, we use established curriculums based on traditional academic standards, with strengths in phonics, reading, math, and language.

Standardized tests administered each spring – kindergarten through elementary grades – illustrate the consistent success of this tried & true curriculum.  The skills, habits, and values formed in these early years of schooling are essential to future academic achievement.
