PHILOSOPHY OF EDUCATIONWe follow a four-fold purpose in our school program. We believe that as Christian educators we have a responsibility to give the students entrusted to our care an excellent education. We accomplish this through an established curriculum based on traditional academic standards taught by diligent, qualified instructors. The entire staff of the school and EEC is required to have a minimum of 20 hours of continuing education each year.In addition to the academic curriculum, our school offers Athletics, Computer, Music, P.E. and Spanish classes to students in the elementary grades. “Hark unto me, O ye children, for blessed are they that keep my ways. Hear instruction, and be wise and refuse it not." Proverbs 8:32-33. PHYSICALOur students, Pre-Kindergarten through Sixth Grade, enjoy an active physical education program. In our elementary grades the students are trained to exercise all of their muscles through the use of fun games, exercise, and sports’ skills. Motor development and coordination are stressed with our preschool students.Students in the 5th and 6th grade can also participate in team athletics. This activity allows our students to further develop their physical capabilities as well as learning to compete and grow as a Christian athlete. “Do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own; you were bought at a price. Therefore honor God with your body”. I Corinthians 6:19-20. EMOTIONALThe key ingredient found in our school faculty and staff is a strong commitment to our Christian school ministry and genuine love and concern for teaching boys and girls—academically and spiritually—including their emotional welfare. Our teachers and assistants take a special interest in each child and strive to motivate that child toward his or her highest potential. Our students are remembered daily in prayer. “All thy children shall be taught of the Lord; and great shall be the peace of thy children.” Isa. 54:13 SPIRITUALChapel time is an important part of the spiritual growth of our students. Students learn Bible stories, songs, scripture verses, and participate in prayer time. The elementary grades also have a Bible lesson as part of their curriculum. Baptist doctrine is not taught in our school, but dependence upon and love for God is encouraged. Growth toward a personal relationship with God through the Savior, Jesus Christ, is nurtured. Parents are welcome to attend a chapel service with their children. Please try to arrive prior to the 8:15 chapel start time. Chapel attendance is a requirement for students. “Jesus said, ‘Suffer the little children and forbid them not to come to me; for of such is the kingdom of heaven.’” Matthew 19:14
